Osbit showcases innovative approach at Offshore Wind North East 2019

It was a busy and successful OWNE for Osbit as we joined major players in the North East offshore renewables sector, at what has become an important fixture in the North East’s Offshore Wind industry calendar.

The event, which is organised by business development experts NOF, was held on 7th November at the Eagles Arena in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK and secured record attendance, with more than 700 professionals, 90 exhibitors and 60 speakers coming together. Delegates heard from Innogy Renewables UK, Dogger Bank Wind Farms, SSE Renewables, Moray West Offshore Wind Farm, Vattenfall, Ørsted and EDF Renewables.

Our sales and marketing team were on hand to welcome visitors to the Osbit stand and to support Energi Coast, our partners in the North East offshore wind cluster, in showcasing the significant offshore wind capabilities that the region has to offer.

Osbit Director Robbie Blakeman took part in one of a series of focused panel discussions held during the event, focused on offshore wind industry requirements for subsea expertise. This included the future of cable installation technology and the role North East supply chain partners play in supporting that trajectory, the opportunities presented by the shift from oil and gas into wind and the resulting skills and technology requirements.

Visitors to the Osbit stand were able to find out more about how our approach to wind installation equipment makes more possible for our customers, improving project delivery and profitability in significant offshore wind projects around the world.

“The region has an enviable reputation for offshore engineering design, innovation and fabrication and it was a great opportunity for Osbit’s international team to meet with customers from around the world attending the event.”
